Fendercare Marine embraces the ‘Peli-can’-do attitude
Committed to supporting the work of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), the James Fisher group is sponsoring and participating in the Only The Brave obstacle run 2018 held in aid of the charity’s life-saving work.
Fendercare Marine is joining a 35-strong-team of colleagues from ScanTech Offshrore, Rotos 360 and James Fisher Marine Services and will be supported by the wider group companies of James Fisher and Sons plc.
A combined effort of running, crawling, climbing and scrambling will ensure the 'Peli-CANs' survive the 6-mile mud run and 35 obstacles to reach the finish line.
Attending over 25,000 emergencies over the last 18 years, the EAAA is comprised of specialist pre-hospital doctors and critical-care paramedics covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. The charity requires £11.8 million in funding annually to continue its life-saving work, so events like Only the Brave are critical in supporting the cause.
Emma Holmes, STS Project Development Manager at Fendercare Marine:
“Fendercare Marine is delighted to be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) along with our James Fisher colleagues. Supporting local communities across all our office locations is something we take pride in, and the bravery of the EAAA is something that we admire.
“We’re delighted to sponsor and participate in Only the Brave’s 2018 mud run and hope that our support can help raise significant funds for EAAA so they can continue to provide helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) for the people of East Anglia.”
Catrina Laskey, events manager at EAAA:
“We are thrilled to have James Fisher and Sons plc as our headline sponsor of Only The Brave this year, and it’s fantastic to see them really getting involved by putting a big team forward to take part on the day. Their support will help us to keep our helicopters in the sky, so we’d like to say a big thank you on behalf of everyone at EAAA.”
